Tangka painter and inheritor of intangible cultural heritage skills in the traditional Miantang School of Painting
“Drawing a thangka is not only a practice of pen tip and color, but also a way to condense thousands of years of piety, faith, and measurement rituals into eternity in every stroke.”
Artist's Life and Inheritance
Born in 1990 in the heartland of Rebgong Art in Qinghai, Luozang Qingzhou is a leading contemporary Thangka creator and a contracted designer for light-luxury Oriental aesthetics. He is also the founder and director of the Qinghai Shenyu Rebgong Painting Academy.
With two decades of dedicated practice in Thangka art, he possesses both authentic ancient craftsmanship and an international modern aesthetic. He is one of the few emerging intangible cultural heritage (ICH) designers in China who seamlessly integrates national-level authoritative qualifications, international art awards, and contemporary fashion design thinking.
Ancient Techniques and Skills
Rooted in the millennia-old intangible cultural heritage of Tibet, he shatters the boundaries between traditional art and modern fashion. By seamlessly fusing the cultural beliefs of the plateau, the tactile texture of ancient craftsmanship, and contemporary light-luxury minimalism, he has forged an exclusive design language that is elegantly refined, transparent, and delicate.
His works feature exquisite compositions and a sophisticated, restrained color palette. They possess the sacred heritage of Eastern intangible cultural heritage while perfectly aligning with the minimalist texture of modern light luxury, ultimately achieving a modernized and international expression of traditional art.

Preservation & Social Mission
Founded in 2019, the Shenyu Rebgong Painting Academy serves as a provincial-level youth employment training base and an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) inheritance demonstration platform. With a long-term commitment to art preservation and industry empowerment, the academy has nurtured hundreds of art professionals and ICH inheritors, driving the development of local cultural industries.

Beyond his artistic achievements, he serves as a member of the China Folk Literature and Art Association and as a member of the Huangnan Prefectural Committee of the CPPCC. Through these roles, he continues to drive the fashionable dissemination of Oriental intangible cultural heritage aesthetics while being deeply involved in educational support, livelihood assistance, and vocational skills training.
Adhering to the creative philosophy of “rooted in tradition, shaped by fashion, and driven by artisan spirit,” Luozang Qingzhou continuously deconstructs millennia-old Thangka aesthetics, transforming ancient intangible cultural heritage into high-end fashion and fine sacred treasures.
