Green Tara

This miniature thangka is hand-painted by Regong artists using the double-sided identical painting technique. It features a close-up portrait of the classic Green Tara and comes with an exquisitely crafted gau box for portable wear, ideal for art appreciation, collection and styling decoration. Created in accordance with traditional thangka painting techniques, the main deity’s turquoise-green form is layered with multiple washes of natural mineral pigments to achieve a mild, elegant hue. The face radiates serene compassion, with soft, relaxed lines for the eyes and brows. Her downcast gaze is vividly expressed, the lip tone is delicate and natural, and the urna ornament between the brows is exquisitely rendered. She wears a five-leaf jewelled crown adorned with elaborate gem patterns on each leaf, paired with substantial large earrings. The background is laid with a solid red base embellished with fine patterns, creating a striking contrast against the green form. The overall composition is compact and full, with elegant and dignified colours. The entire piece is fully hand-painted with double-sided mirrored rendering. Slight variations in brushwork among individual works are normal characteristics of handcrafted artworks.
