Manjushri Bodhisattva / Wisdom Buddha Eye

This miniature thangka is hand-painted by Regong artists with Buddha eyes and lotus mudra motifs painted on a single side. Fitted with an exquisitely crafted round carved gau box for portable wear, it is suitable for art appreciation, collection and styling decoration. Created following traditional thangka painting techniques, the work uses bright warm yellow as the base tone with multi-layered shading of natural mineral pigments. The elongated, soft lines of the Buddha eyes convey serene tranquility, with relaxed eye brows. A pure white lotus motif adorns the space between the brows, while an elegant mudra below holds up a lotus flower, with delicately rendered and vivid fingertips. Twisting turquoise-blue auspicious cloud scroll patterns decorate the bottom with smooth, flowing lines. The refined carved round metal frame outlines the painting. It features a concise and focused composition with mild, fresh colour matching. Mirrored painting is applied on both sides with neat and delicate brushwork. The entire piece is fully hand-painted. Slight variations in brushwork among individual works are normal characteristics of handcrafted artworks.
