Sword-Holding Manjushri

Manjushri with the Sword is a principal emanation of Manjushri Bodhisattva and the wisdom yidam in Tibetan Buddhism, identified chiefly by the wisdom sword. He has a golden yellow body, one face and two arms. His right hand holds aloft the wisdom sword, symbolizing the cutting through of ignorance and afflictions. His left hand grips a lotus supporting the Prajna Sutra, which embodies perfect wisdom. He rides upon a turquoise blue lion. Presiding over the unfolding of wisdom, dispelling delusion and subduing wrong views, he aids practitioners in attaining supreme Prajna wisdom.
