Black Manjushri (Wutai North Terrace Immaculate Manjushri)

Also known as Black Manjushri, Immaculate Manjushri of the North Terrace is a wrathful emanation of Manjushri Bodhisattva and a principal wisdom tutelary deity in Tibetan Buddhism.
He has a dark bluish-black body with one face, two arms and three wide-open glaring eyes. He holds the sword of wisdom in his right hand, and a lotus bearing the Prajna Sutra in his left, riding upon a cyan lion. He is revered for dispelling ignorance, awakening wisdom, subduing demons and removing obstacles, and is the chief sacred deity enshrined at the North Terrace of Mount Wutai.
