Wuye (Guan Gong)

This miniature thangka is hand-painted by Regong artists, featuring a facial portrait of Guan Gong. Fitted with an exquisitely crafted gau box for portable wear, it is suitable for art appreciation, collection and styling decoration. Created following traditional thangka painting techniques, the work adopts a clear blue background with layered shading using mineral pigments. The figure bears a dignified and steady facial expression, with firm and vivid lines defining the eyes and brows. Fine brushstrokes render each strand of the long beard for distinct textural layers. The ornate crown boasts elaborate, delicate patterns with rich inlaid detailing. Flowing auspicious cloud motifs surround the figure in vibrant, varied hues. The focused, full composition ensures strong visual recognizability. The entire piece is fully hand-painted.
