Yellow Jambhala
This miniature thangka is hand-painted by Regong artists, featuring Yellow Jambhala, a classic figure of traditional thangka art. Fitted with an exquisitely crafted gau box for portable wear, it is ideal for art appreciation, collection and styling decoration.
Created in accordance with traditional thangka painting techniques, the main deity’s golden yellow body is layered with multiple washes of natural mineral pigments, presenting bright and rich hues. The wrathful facial expression is vividly depicted with wide-open eyes and intense brows. The crown and jewelled garlands are adorned with elaborate, delicate patterns. The deity has a plump and rounded physique, holding a treasure-spouting mongoose in the left hand and a wish-fulfilling mani jewel in the right hand, with fully and precisely shaped ritual implements. The folds of garments and scarves flow gracefully; the blue-green scarves create a striking colour contrast against the golden body. The background is layered with auspicious clouds, coral trees, treasure baskets and other motifs. The pinkish-blue swirling clouds are supple and lively, forming a full and magnificent overall composition with abundant colour gradations.
The entire piece is fully hand-painted. Slight variations in brushwork among individual works are normal characteristics of handcrafted artworks.
