Medicine Buddha Bhaiṣajyaguru Vaiḍūrya Prabha Tathāgata

Bhaiṣajyaguru Vaiḍūrya Prabha Tathāgata, commonly known as the Medicine Buddha, is the lord of the Eastern Pure Lapis Lazuli World and a principal Buddha in Tibetan Buddhism. He is depicted with a blue body, one face and two arms, seated on a lotus and moon disc in the meditation mudra while holding a medicine vase. He made twelve great vows to free all beings from physical and mental afflictions. He is revered for dispelling misfortunes, healing illnesses, lengthening lifespan and blessing people with good health, and is highly venerated by followers of both Han and Tibetan Buddhism.
