Vaishravana

Also known as Vaisravana, Vaishravana is one of the Four Heavenly Kings in Buddhism and a major guardian deity of wealth in Tibetan Buddhism. He dwells in the northern region of Mount Sumeru and commands a host of yakshas to protect the northern realm. Clad in armor with a golden complexion, he rides atop a majestic lion. He holds a precious umbrella in his left hand and a treasure-spitting mongoose in his right. Presiding over wealth and blessings as well as safeguarding the Dharma, he can dispel poverty and hardships and augment worldly provisions. He is a principal guardian venerated by the Gelug School.
