Green Tara

Green Tara ranks first among the Twenty-one Taras in Tibetan Buddhism and is a compassionate emanation of Avalokiteśvara, the Bodhisattva of Mercy. She gets her name from her emerald-green complexion.
With one face and two arms and a graceful countenance, she sits in a relaxed posture: her left leg is folded in meditation, while her right leg extends to rest upon a lotus, symbolizing her readiness to deliver all beings from suffering at any moment. Her right hand holds a blue lotus to grant wishes, and her left hand clutches a flower for protection. She is revered for alleviating hardships and dispelling disasters, and stands as one of the most venerated guardian deities across Tibetan regions.
